Chirp
Based in Ann Arbor, MI, Chirp is a four-piece band that does its fair share of genre-hopping, but often plays in the styles of progressive rock/funk and jazz-fusion. Officially formed in Fall 2015, Chirp mixes originals and covers into their live sets and puts together grabbing, dynamic shows. Though their music features a lot of technical elements, an equal emphasis is put on grooving and keeping people moving. They ...released an EP called "Live From Brownstown" in 2016, which features live studio takes of five original tunes and has been met with a great reception. Jive Colossus
Formed in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 2012, Jive Colossus debuted at the 2013 Water Hill Music Festival. Originally an instrumental group, the 10-piece ensemble added lead vocalist Shelley Catalan in late Fall 2014. Her lively vocal stylings percolate over danceable, infectious grooves punctuated with colorful horn riffs. From Afrobeat to Funk, Jazz, Calypso, R&B, Soul, Reggae, Rock and more, the music of Jive Colossus reflects the deep musical roots and diverse experiences of its members.
